The Woods Lane Studio Process
1. VISUALIZING THE END GOAL
You know you need updated family portraits, but what do you do with them afterward? The best family portraits are more than just digital files—they are tangible memories you get to see & enjoy - Every. Single. Day.
At Woods Lane Studio, we make sure your portraits don't end up forgotten in a folder or on a USB drive in a desk drawer. We plan with you from the very beginning, identifying the perfect place for your photos to live.
We'll design your home gallery, create a unique statement piece for your fireplace, or craft a stunning, premium album that tells your family's story. From your home's layout to your personal style, your consultation is all about designing a lasting legacy for your family.
2. CONSULTATION
Ready to make some memories? Our initial chat not only covers the most suitable areas of your home for your portraits, your design style, colors, etc., it also sets the stage to capture the authentic, messy, beautiful, and real story of your family. We want the scoop on your crew - - who's the wild child, who's the quiet observer? Knowing your family's unique vibe helps us capture YOU, just as you are.
We'll talk about wardrobe, location, budget, and your pet or prop-related questions (spoiler: Bring them!) No question is too small, and we'll ensure you're totally comfortable.
3. WARDROBE COLLAB
You'll walk away from your Design Consultation with a solid plan for everyone's look. Between now and your shoot, we're here to help. Feel free to shoot us an email, hop on a Zoom, or give us a ring to talk outfits.
Together, we'll finalize everything at least a week before the big day, so there's zero stress and plenty of time for those last minute dry cleaning runs.
4. PHOTO SHOOT
Let's be honest - family photos can be a total circus. Cranky kids? Reluctant partners? We've seen it all. As a mom of nine, Lynnette has mastered the art of managing (and loving) the chaos.
Your only job is to get everyone to the studio; we'll handle the rest. In fact, be prepared - you might have to convince your kids to leave when we're done because they'll be having too much fun!
5. VIEW + ORDER APPOINTMENT
We can't wait to show you your photos! About two (2) weeks post- shoot, we'll get together for your viewing + ordering session. This is the time set aside to Finalize Your Portrait Order, so be sure to Bring All Decision Makers to select your favorites.
We will use our amazing software to virtually 'hang' your photos on your walls, to find the perfect fit - no more guessing what size is right! We'll bring your vision to life, ensuring everything is perfectly styled based on our initial chat.
6. DELIVERY + INSTALL
This boutique service is the cherries on top! Why stress over a hammer and nails? Roughly 4 wks after your order, we'll deliver and install your portraits for you. It avoids the classic 'micro- managing' arguments over exactly where the hook should go.
We'll take care of the hanging and heavy lifting so your walls look gallery- perfect without the headache.
